Do you accept all kinds of concerns?
We accept a wide range of mental health concerns. However, if we determine that medical intervention is necessary — such as in cases involving severe self-harm (e.g., wrist-cutting), strong suicidal ideation, harm toward others, or significant weight loss due to eating disorders — and you are not currently under medical care, we may not be able to provide support.
Can I consult about someone else, such as my child or a family member?
Yes, you are welcome to talk to us about your child or other family members. For children, it is often difficult to open up to a new person right away. We usually start by speaking with parents or guardians to discuss how best to approach the child. For adults who are hesitant to seek help themselves, family members can also contact us first.
I am seeing a psychiatrist regularly. Can I still book sessions with you?
Yes, you can. However, we ask that you inform your psychiatrist that you are using our counselling services.
Can you prescribe medication or issue medical certificates?
Unfortunately, no. Rainbow Forest Centre London is not a medical institution. We cannot prescribe medication or issue medical certificates.
Can I use private medical insurance?
Coverage depends on your insurance provider. Please check directly with your insurance company. While we are not a medical institution and our staff are not UK-registered professionals, some hold medical qualifications in Japan. In some cases, insurers have approved reimbursement when services align with what would be considered medical care under Japanese standards.
Can a teacher or colleague join a session?
Yes, that’s absolutely fine, with your consent.
Can I request a session in an emergency?
We will do our best to accommodate urgent needs, but unfortunately, we may not always be able to respond immediately.
Do you offer sessions in English?
We currently do not offer full sessions in English. However, we can communicate in English as needed.
Can I use a multi-way call (e.g., with multiple participants)?
Yes, multi-way calls are welcome.
I tried to call but couldn’t reach you.
We are often unable to answer phone calls. Please contact us through the Contact Us form whenever possible.
I’m having internet issues or questions about my Wi-Fi. Can you help?
We’re sorry, but we are not able to provide IT support. For technical issues related to internet connections or home equipment, please contact your service provider or equipment manufacturer.
Can I get a refund if the session is disconnected?
We generally do not offer refunds. However:
If the disconnection is due to a technical issue on our side, we will reschedule your session at no additional cost.
If your own internet connection fails and the session is interrupted within the first 10 minutes and cannot be resumed, we will also reschedule free of charge.
